From 2018 to 2023, Kyle Houston hosted a weekly radio show that put Statesville's leaders, candidates, and everyday questions on the air.
In December 2018, Kyle Houston launched a radio program, Houston Solutions, on WAME 92.9, Real Country, as a short Wednesday-morning segment. It grew into a weekly show, and in 2019 it moved to WSIC, where it ran as Houston's Solutions through January 2023.
The show mixed practical help with local civic life. One week it was plain-English insurance and consumer tips, the next it was the news that mattered most in Statesville and Iredell County. He covered local elections in real time and opened the microphone to the people shaping the community.
His guests read like a cross-section of local leadership: Statesville Mayor Costi Kutteh, candidates for mayor and City Council, a sitting Superior Court judge, Rotary leaders, and local business owners. Across more than four years of weekly shows, hundreds of episodes gave residents a steady, accessible window into how their city worked.
