Kyle Houston opened his Allstate agency in 2017 and grew it into a two-office, nine-person firm that kept showing up for Statesville.
Kyle Houston opened Allstate: Houston Insurance Agency in Statesville on January 1, 2017, at 207 Eastside Drive. Within two years it had grown to two locations and nine local employees, and customers voted it the area's Finest Insurance Firm for 2018.
The agency built its name on service, and not only to policyholders. As Hurricane Florence bore down on the region in 2018, Houston offered storm-prep help and shared tools to assess property damage. The agency backed an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant for a local ministry, sponsored community events, and, after a 9-year-old Statesville girl was wounded in a random shooting, pledged a donation to her family for every quote it wrote that spring.
Running a small business in his hometown shaped how Houston saw the city. He had met payroll, served clients, and learned the local economy from the inside, and it became the foundation of everything else he did in Statesville.

The record
